For the first time in over 10 years and for one night only, PhatNights proudly present the critically acclaimed, Grammy award winning, D’ANGELO, live in concert at O2 Academy Brixton, London, on Friday 3rd of February 2012, with full live band.

The concert follows a decade’s sabbatical by the neo-soul singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. A founding artist of the neo-soul movement, his debut album Brown Sugar (1995) and follow up, Voodoo (2000) were both platinum certified and in 2008 cited as “two of the most excellent and singular R&B albums of the past 15 years”[1], with Voodoo featuring in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. To date, collaborations include Lauryn Hill, Anthony Hamilton, Methodman and Fela Kuti.

The third album, considered one of the most anticipated in popular music, is said to include contributions from none other than Prince, along with other musical heavyweights like Ceelo Green and Mark Ronson.

Now, with the album-release confirmed for 2012, his musical resurrection has seen worldwide concert dates sell out just days after being announced. His London show at the legendary Brixton Academy is certain to follow that precedent.

This one-off show from the renowned live vocalist and stage performer will feature some new exciting material as well as classics like Brown Sugar, Lady, Me and Those Dreamin Eyes and Untitled (How does it feel?). With Q magazine naming him in their list of the “50 Bands To See Before You Die”, can you really afford to miss this?

 Funk soul brother No1 Nathan Watson returns to the jazz café to launch his long awaited debut album Student of life.

 Nathan has become well established on the London live and being a guest vocalist at Ronnie Scott’s regular Funk Affair night saw him working alongside performers like Omar & Denis Rollins.

He also hosted his own Nathan Watson & Friends show at Camden’s The Forge and his impressive guests included Mobo winner Natalie Williams and acclaimed singer Randolph Matthews not to mention also being a featured vocalist at the Jazz Café’s sold out tributes to Al Green & Prince.

He supported another award winner Melanie Fiona and surprised the audience with the power of his performance & craftsmanship of his songs gaining many new fans.

Student of Life hits Itunes on the 13th October & will be available to buy on the night of his launch party. This is one not to be missed.

In the first half of the 90’s Kenny Thomas dominated the charts with hits including “Outstanding”, “Thinking About Your Love”, “Best of You”, “Tender Love” and “Trippin’ On Your Love”.
Since those heady days the soul fraternity have watched him grow into one of the finest singers the UK has produced. Constantly touring he’s found it hard to devote time to making a new album – although he has teased his fans by occasionally stepping into the studio to record tracks like the stunning ‘Crazy World” and the anthemic “Him” or to offer up guest vocals with Roy Ayres for Richard Earnshaw’s “In Time” album, but for anyone who loves Kenny’s voice it simply hasn’t been enough.
One never to let his fans down, Kenny has spent the last two years writing and recording the exceptional “Breathe”. He’s drawn in his favourite producers to work with him on the album including the aforementioned Richard Earnshaw, Sir Piers, 5AM, MAD, Music Eye, and Billy Freeman of “The Drizabone Soul Family”.
“Breathe” offers 13 beautifully crafted songs, sung by one of the finest soul voices and produced and mixed by the hottest producers around – it definitely proves that all good things do come to those who wait!
