| Soul Revival is essentially compiled to bring back that feeling when you first walked past the red curtains at Circus and you introduced yourself to what Kelvin SS called the high-life with some soul assasin on the decks. F*#$ the girls, you head straight up to the second floor, anchor right next to the DJ booth and observe everything Jim the Soul Spinner is doing, sometimes trying to catch a glimpse of the cd/album cover. Before you knew, it was 6 in the morning and you had to head back home. Rewind back to 1989/90 with Tich doing his Garage session ‘Go-Go’ Time between 1:30-2pm. By the time he played his outro track Tears by Frankie Knuckles you wonder why this dude gotta leave then he chuckles “Looking for good times, follow me”. You know he’s playing at Rumours that night but you are too young to go and to some you are not even in H-town…..daamn!! Soul Revival is an eternal dedication to all Zim club and radio DJs who made us the people we are today, soul music addicts!! MusiqAve, y’all know what time it is……another dosage to get you high… |
