American R&B star, Babyface will tour South Africa in September 2010. The popular singer and record producer will perform at Durban’s Inkosi Albert Luthuli (ICC) on September 17, Sedibeng’s Dickinson Park on September 19, Mogale City’s Coronation Park on September 24 and Jozi’s Sandton Convention Centre on September 26. Tour organisers say the star, whose real name is Kenneth Brian Edmonds, is coming as a replacement for fellow US R&B singer, Brandy. Rampa Masoko of Khalipha Entertainment says they had to replace Brandy because she had already been booked to take part in a US reality show, Dancing With The Stars. Some SA music fans say they are “not really excited about Babyface’s tour because he also cancelled his SA performances at the eleventh hour last year .” “I’ll believe it when I see him in South Africa,” says a music fan who was disappointed last year. The tour will be supported by a host of local singers including Lira Ntando, Robbie Malinga, Theo Kgosinkwe, Big Nuz, DJ Tira and DJ Siyanda.
