Make mine a Musical Cocktail with a sprinkling of comedy on the rocks!!

October 23rd at The Cobden is going to be a night of explosive rhythms, mesmerising, eclectic vocals and a well-mixed cocktail of jazz, acoustic soul, Indie and RnB.

They say good things come to those to wait. This is a show which has been long overdue but still worth the wait. With a carefully chosen ensemble of artists and instruments, MusiqAve are set to make their mark on the inventive music world stage.

Foreseen as a night of fierce passion with an underlying soft, exotic resonance, this is one show that will surely not disappoint.

Show headliners, Tagara Jazz Quartet are a fine collection of artists who continuously spellbind audiences wherever they play. With a truly magical set, this is jazz at its freeest and yet most coherent!  The interaction, the play, the way the artists feed off each other is electric!  Imagine a blend of vocals, music, dancing, and  a soft, mesmerising, blow of bass, piano  and guitar playfully interdispersed with high pitched squeals of the saxophone!  Such musical nuances can only be described as “an overwhelming delight”, like playful winged mates of an unknown description.

Singer, Songwriter and Self- Taught Guitarist, Kersha Bailey will be adding a soulful, colourful style to the night’s ambience. Over the years, Keisha has developed a three octave vocal range with a soulful, colorful style. With the popular success of her infamous adaptation of Eva Cassidy’s ‘Autumn Leaves’, Keisha’s star is sure to rise sky high.

And there’s more – One does not begin to speak of soulful house without making reference to David Prosper. His ability to move a crowd has seen him perform world wide where he has wowed audiences with his powerful vocal performances and catchy songs. David will be lending some of this magic on the 23rd, adding a much needed infusion of energy, fun and flirt into what can only be described as a night of play. As a writer, David’s material is meaningful, uplifting, sensual, soulful and funky. As a perfomer, David has been described as ‘awesome’, ‘exciting’, ‘energetic’, ‘emotional’, ‘powerful’ …

And what is a night without a little comedy and jibe? Lending his pacy, upbeat and infectious energy to the night is star of MTV’s Get Rich” Marlon Davis. Possessing a hypnotic delivery and infectious smile. Marlon exploded onto the comedy scene in 2005 with delightful tales of his upbringing, exploring urban Britain with skillful characterisations and has not looked back since. Marlon has quickly established himself as a regular on the comedy circuit playing most of the major clubs around the country and was crowned “Comedy Cafe Best New Act of the Year” in 2006.”Davis is charming, with a winning smile, his passion in acting out all the little scenarios that comprise his set is enviable.”-Chortle. He truly is a gifted entertainer with a solar future.

As always, as a tasty flavour to the end of a truly entertaining night, soul Lovers can also expect to dance the night away to Old Skool & Nu Skool DJ sets by the MusiqAve team.

Seeing is believing. Hearing is appreciating. This is one night of a kind. Not to be missed. A definite must-go to lift one’s spirits before the dark, grey, cold nights ahead.
